If Only...

I'm thinking that with the skull and the made-up mannequins, this has a sort of Hallowe'enie look to it.

Even if I'm wrong, I just like the pic. Hope you do, too.

Have a terrific weekend!

Digital Darkroom

In the digital age, one can do "darkroom work" almost anywhere - like at this cafe near Yonge and Eglinton, Toronto.

Free Hugs

On Saturday, a bunch of university kids were at the corner of Yonge and Eglinton here in Toronto, practicing Acts of Random Kindness. Their act was "free hugs". They just stood there with their signs and hugged anyone who wanted to be hugged. It was as simple as that. Everyone seemed to walk away with a smile on their face.

What a great idea!

Crossing College

Taken in Toronto's Little Italy at College and (I think) Euclid on a cool autumn day. Even at mid-day the shadows are getting longer...

Forever?

The Canadian Patient (again)

I posted this informal portrait of Michael Ondaatje a couple of days ago. I edited it in Picasa since my computer (and the Photoshop installed therein) are down. I'm not happy with what I can do in Picasa, but it's free so I can't complain. I've just recently been told about FastStone, another free imaging software available on-line. I just downloaded it on my work computer, and while it doesn't do nearly as much as Photoshop, it's way better than Picasa (for my needs, anyway).

Dancing in the Street

Taken over a year ago near St. Lawrence Market in Toronto, this one's been a favorite of mine, although I can't say why.

Artist on the Steps

Taken last October in front of Toronto's Minsker Synagogue in Kensington market.

Given that Yom Kippur, the "gravest" (if that's an appropriate word) of Jewish days starts this evening, I thought this might be somewhat appropriate, not for the subject-matter of the photo as much as the location.

She Talks and Talks and Talks...

Still with the computer problems so I'm showing favourites from my other photoblogs, this one having recently been shown on Under Ground, a transit photoblog.

Hope you enjoy this, and I hope you enjoy the upcoming autumn weekend as well!

Italian Weapons

I'm still dealing with computer issues, so here's an old favourite from my daily bicycle photoblog, Il Mondo del Ciclismo. I don't know why I like it so much, maybe it's the lighting. Or maybe it's because my Fondriest is on the right. Or maybe it's just because I like trackbikes.

Hopefully you'll enjoy, and feel free to head on over to check out Il Mondo...

The Standoff

My computer is down for a few days, so while I have lots and lots of new photos to show you, I have no way of processing them (I post from my work computer which doesn't have Photoshop).

So, I thought I'd post a recent one from my transit photoblog, Under Ground, thus plugging that little endeavor.

Hopefully we'll have all-new pix in a few days. Thanks for your understanding
