As I recall (I took this photo about a month ago) the driver did have a Middle Eastern or North African look about him...

... with the film version starring Steve Carrel as 86 and a very young Anne Hathaway as a very young 99. Kudos for casting Alan Arkin as the Chief and Terence Stamp as Siegfried.

But why, oh why, must Hollywood do this? Are they so bereft of ideas that they must remake 40 year old TV shows?

The original was so brilliant, they'll never be able to do it justice, and really, there can be only one Agent 86. No one but Don Adams could ~ever~ be Smart. Why not leave well-enough alone?

I eagerly await the movie version of Green Acres and Petticoat Junction.
